Elections Ontario is taking steps to engage teenagers in the political process.
Chief Returning Officer Greg Essensa says they recently started allowing 16 and 17 year olds to register to vote in future elections once they turn 18.
Once they turn of age they’ll be moved to the permanent voter registration list.
Meanwhile, Essensa says he wants the province to further study into the idea of lowering the voting age from 18 to 16.
