The Border Cats will not start their home schedule on time this season.
Thunder Bay’s Golf and Cemetery Operations supervisor says weather of the last several months has delayed construction of the baseball fields throughout the city.
Tom Forsythe says time is needed for safe, proper sod installation at the Port Arthur stadium.
He says another 4 weeks is needed for safety of players.
The team says the first couple of weeks will be played in Minnesota and Iowa, with the home opener June 17th.
