The Lake Superior Scottish Regiment is marking the arrival of a new Commanding Officer today.
A change in command will happen this afternoon at 2 p.m., at the O’Kelly Armoury on Park Avenue.
Captain George Romick says, normally, a CO is a position of authority held for three-to-four years, and the formal transfer of responsibility from the departing Commanding Officer to the incoming one ensures there’s always new blood in command.
He adds it’s an important part of military tradition. Lieutenant Colonel David Ratz will be replacing Lieutenant Colonel Geoff Abthorpe.
