The recommendations are out, following the seven-month inquest into the deaths of seven first nation youths in Thunder Bay.
The jury’s 145 suggestions included ensuring every First Nation community has a high school. Regional Supervising Coroner David Eden says the parties involved, including the City and Nishnawbe Aski Nation, have one year to respond to the non-legally-binding recommendations.
Eden adds they are comprehensive and have a good chance of preventing similar deaths in the future. (Staff photo)
