Fundraising achievements for the northwestern Ontario branch of the Canadian Cancer Society have been recognized.
Spokesperson Maria Cabral tells us these independant success stories are important, since the Thunder Bay office is the only one between White River and the Manitoba border.
This year, eight volunteer fundraising efforts were honoured, including “Save the Ta-Tas” for breast cancer which raised $16,900 in the first-year effort by Thunder Bay’s Marie Penko and her family.
The volunteers were recognized during a luncheon in Thunder Bay last week.(File Photo)
