The Muskeg Express has been saved, as the city pledges to fix it with $50,000 from reserve funds.
The move was unanimously approved at Monday night’s City Council meeting.
Councillor Linda Rydholm agrees it’s a long-overdue repair.
“These projects were not well-maintained over the years, and now we pay the price,” Rydholm points out.
Councillor Frank Pullia joined the chorus around the council table voicing support for the ride, which he argues is worth the cost.
Calling it a “valuable asset” for residents of all ages, Pullia says “I use it myself and I bring people there whenever I can.”
The motion put before Council Monday night says that without these repairs, the Muskeg Express won’t be able to operate this year. (File Photo)
