It’s going to be hard work for Thunder Bay to reconcile with the Indigenous population according to the author of a book about the deaths of seven First Nation students.
Tanya Talaga tells us she’s hopeful the community can move forward but notes it will be a lot of work.
“You are setting the foundations now, you are going to go forward, you will go backwards. Telling the truth is the easy part, reconciling that’s the tough part.”
The author was the keynote speaker at the city’s 13th annual Diversity Celebration Breakfast.
