City police have arrested a suspected connected to reports of gunshots in July on Wiley Street.
Officers with the Break, Enter and Robbery Unit were investigating a separate situation on Tuesday when a suspect involved in the shooting was spotted.
The suspect was successfully arrested on Academy Drive after attempting to run.
They were in possession of a loaded firearm, and a quantity of suspected cocaine and cash.
As a result of the investigation, a 21-year-old is facing several charges including:
- Attempted murder using restricted or prohibited firearm x7
- Discharge a firearm with intent
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
- Possession of a firearm obtained by crime
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose
- Failure to comply with a release order
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Failure to comply with a release order
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking
The accused appeared in court on Wednesday and remains in custody with a future court date.
