More roadwork is kicking off throughout July.
The city is investing $42 million this year to fund infrastructure work like road rehabilitation, sidewalk replacements, sewer and watermain repairs and replacements, and bridge and culvert renewals.
During construction, drivers can expect road closures and lane reductions.
The following roadwork projects are expected to kick off this month:
- Alice Avenue – Lane closures expected mid-July
- Arthur Street – Lane closures between Mountdale Avenue and James Street expected mid-to-late July
- Harbour Expressway – Lane closures between Carrick Street and Fort William Road expected in late July
- Edward Street – Road to completely close between Riverview Drive and Victoria Avenue in late July or early August
The city is asking motorists to reduce their speed, be alert, and to watch for workers in construction zones.
