Another collision between a motor vehicle and a pedestrian in the Simpson Street area has resulted in a fatality.
City police say the victim, now identified as a woman was taken to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre Sunday night following a collision in the area of Simpson Street and Leith Street just before 8 p.m.
However, she was pronounced deceased in hospital.
The Thunder Bay Police Service’s Traffic Unit and Forensic Identification Units continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
This incident comes two days after, and within five blocks of a hit and run which resulted in the death of a 25 year old man, which has resulted in charges against a 58 year old driver.

City police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a serious collision on the city’s south side, which sent one person to hospital.
First responders were dispatched to the area of Leith and Simpson Streets just before 8 p.m. Sunday night following a motor vehicle collision, which resulted in a pedestrian being struck.
The degree of the injuries sustained by the victim are not known.
A large police presence could be seen in the area as a result of the collision and the investigation.
