A 60 year old from Thunder Bay has been killed following a motor vehicle collision late Wednesday night near Upsala.
Ontario Provincial Police say they, along with fire fighters and paramedics, responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 17 west of the community around 11:00 p.m. involving a passenger van and a commercial vehicle.
The driver of the van was pronounced deceased on scene, while two passengers were taken to hospital for treatment of injuries of an unknown degree, meanwhile the occupants of the transport were unscathed.
The collision prompted a closure of the highway for several hours but has since reopened.
Meanwhile members of the Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team and OPP Collision Re-Constructionists continue to investigate.
