Members of the Ontario Provincial Police’s Criminal Investigation Branch have finished their initial investigation into two deaths which occurred in the community of Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug First Nation.
Police initially responded to an incident on January 1st just after 3:00 p.m. where one person was located deceased, with a second deceased individual being found later.
The investigation has now determined there are no public safety concerns and there police are not searching for any suspects.
While the investigation with various elements, including the Forensic Identification Services, Major Case Investigation Team and the Northwest Region Crime Unit, in conjunction with the Ontario Centre of Forensic Sciences remains ongoing, no further details will be released.
