Ontario Provincial Police have arrested a Nipigon resident following a drug trafficking investigation in that community.
Police say they began the investigation earlier this month and evidence gathered allowed for an arrest warrant to be issued.
A police spokesperson says on November 29th officers contacted the 47 year old and he turned himself.
No drugs were on his person when he was taken into custody, however police did seize a cell phone.
The accused faces two counts of:
- Trafficking in Schedule I Substance – Cocaine, contrary to Section 5(1) of the Controlled Drug and Substances Act
He is slated to appear in court today.
More charges could be pending according to the spokesperson, however that aspect of the investigation remains on going.
