SIJHL playoffs for 2023 have been set.
Starting on Thurs., March 23 is the Thunder Bay North Stars vs the Red Lake Miners at the Fort William Gardens. Playing the same night in Dryden is the Dryden GM Ice Dogs vs the Fort Frances Lakers.
The SIJHL playoffs are a best-of-seven series and the teams are seeded based on their regular-season performance, with the top two teams receiving a first-round bye. The remaining four teams compete in a best-of-seven series to determine the semifinalists.
The semifinals and finals are also best-of-seven series, with the winner of the playoffs being crowned the SIJHL champions.
The champion team typically advances to the Dudley Hewitt Cup, which is the Central Canadian Junior A championship. The winner of the Dudley Hewitt Cup goes on to compete in the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) championship, the Royal Bank Cup.
