Ontario Provincial Police say a second person has died in connection to a motor vehicle collision which took place near Nipigon last Tuesday.
The collision occurred on Highway 17 east of Nipigon shortly before 4 p.m. when a passenger vehicle and a tractor trailer unit collided, closing the highway for several hours.
A 61-year-old, now identified as Deborah Mills was confirmed deceased in the collision. 48-year-old Paul Ayers was transported to hospital with critical injuries and has now died as a result of those injuries. Both Mills and Ayers were in the passenger vehicle. The driver of the tractor trailer unit was also taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.
The investigation remains ongoing.
