Thunder Bay Police are investigating a fatal collision between a commercial vehicle and a pedestrian which occurred earlier this evening.
Police were called to the scene just after 6:30 p.m. following a 911 call reporting a collision between a commercial vehicle and a pedestrian in the Waterloo Street South and Ridgeway Street East area.
The deceased has only been identified as a 57-year-old adult male.
The public was asked to avoid the area as the initial investigation was carried out, and an area one block North and one block South of Waterloo Street at the Ridgeway Street intersection was closed for several hours but has since been reopened.
The Thunder Bay Police Service Traffic Unit is now involved in the ongoing investigation.
Police say updates will be provided to the media as they become available.
