Enbridge Gas has filed with the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) to have one singular rate zone across the province.
The notice to customers of Enbridge indicates that they would phase in the changes over 2024-26 if approved by the OEB.
If approved, residential customers in northwestern Ontario could see an annual decrease on their bills of $65, and commercial customers of $1,222 annually.
The two years that the gas corporation would take to implement the changes would allow them to inform customers across the province and to adjust any bill impacts.
Gas rates that are scheduled to change for 2023 will go ahead as planned, regardless.
