As the deadline looms, the ballot is getting bigger for the municipal election.
For Mayor, there are five candidates including former Thunder Bay Mayor and MP Ken Boshcoff, as well as At-Large Councillor Peng You. Gary Mack, Robert Szczepanski and Clinton Harris are also running for the top spot in council.
There are a slew of other candidates running in many wards, with the largest amount being 11 candidates vying for a spot as one of the five At-Large Councillors.
Five current members of council will not be running for re-election, and one hasn’t announced any intentions to date. This will put the city in a lame duck position as of Monday Aug. 22.
Those seeking to run have until Friday Aug 19th to get their name in to the City Clerk’s Office. The municipal election happens on Monday October 24th.
