The newly elected Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for Thunder Bay-Atikokan will be officially sworn in on Thursday.
Kevin Holland becomes the first ever Ontario PC Party member to hold the post since the riding was created in 1999.
“The staffing level down (at Queen’s Park) will be dependent on whether I get a cabinet position or a Parliamentary Assistant position. All caucus members though will get an office with a Legislative Assistant assigned to them,” Holland told Acadia News Wednesday.
Premier Doug Ford is set to unveil his new cabinet on Friday morning.
Previously, 28 members of the PC Party held seats on Cabinet.
“I would love to have a cabinet post just to have the voice at the legislative table to make sure that the concerns and voice of Northwestern Ontario is front and centre. (That said) I will respect whatever decision Premier Doug Ford makes, and I will do my best regardless of what position I get,” Holland added.
