It’s good to celebrate the success of our community, including fundraisers.
Students at Lakehead Public Schools worked hard to fundraise for their Terry Fox School Runs and donated $21,000 to the Terry Fox Foundation.
20 schools from the Lakehead Board raised funds, with eight schools bringing in cash into the thousands.
Raising the most was Westmount Public School with $4K, Westgate CVI had over $3K coming in second, and Nor’wester View Public School and École Elsie MacGill Public School took third and fourth places with over $2K raised per school. École Gron Morgan Public School, Woodcrest Public School, McKenzie Public School, and Crestview Public School each raised four figures as well. This years total is the highest ever raised by the local board at almost $30 grand.
Over the course of 41 years, Lakehead Public Schools have donated close to $200,000 in donations that go towards cancer research.
