United, working well and far from collapse.
That response coming Monday night from Chair Kristen Oliver of the Thunder Bay Police Services Board following a statement released earlier in the day by board member Georjann Morriseau.
Morriseau maintained there is no effective governance structure, a lack of accountability when it comes to managing public resources, and improper investigations are getting money and resources.
“The Board, together with the Thunder Bay Police Service, is working to provide the policing that our communities expect and deserve,” Chair Kristen Oliver wrote. “We are committed to building a police service that is constantly improving, meeting challenges and working in the best interest of citizens. We take our duties very seriously and perform them with integrity and professionalism.”
Oliver added that there are regular updates on the files mentioned in the letter from member Morriseau.
The Police Services Board said in November that they had not received any official complaints from the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.
The board is set to meet Tuesday morning with Morriseau set to speak publicly on Thursday.
