The Boys & Girls Club of Thunder Bay is available again for after school care.
The facility on Windsor Street has been closed since before the Christmas break and stayed shuttered with the province delaying in-class learning until January 17th.
Program Director Lee Ann Skirving said the numbers and cohorts will stay the same for the time being.
“We will have 85 kids registered,” Skirving added. “We were going to add more people from our wait list to the program, but we’re going to hold off (on that) for now.”
When it comes to bus transportation, Skirving noted that the centre has a good relationship with the Student Transportation Services of Thunder Bay (STSTB) and even though buses haven’t been running the last two weeks, the schedule remains the same.
“It’s now just a matter of if they are going to have all the drivers available and all of those buses are going to be coming here,” noted Skirving. “If a certain bus isn’t scheduled to run (on a particular day) because they are short drivers, then those (affected) parents would have to drive their kids here.”
