The city’s pothole filling machine is out of commission.
Roads Manager Brad Adams tells us the Python 5000 has broken down and requires repairs and so it will not be back in operation until it is fixed.
Officials noticed the problem around the end of February and that’s when it was taken off the street.
“I’m hoping we get the parts soon,” says Adams, who thinks the vehicle could be out of operation for up to another two weeks.
The roads manager explains until the Python is fixed city staff will be manually filling potholes.
The Python 5000 was brought into operation in November of 2017 and ran into some mechanical problems while it was still under warranty less than a year later.
Adams confirms that warranty has run out and he does not know how much these repairs will cost.
