It’ll be another day off for some students in Thunder Bay, and around the region, on Thursday.
The union representing Ontario’s French language teachers has issued a strike for that day, which will close La Verendrye and Franco-Superior in Thunder Bay. There are a number of other french schools also affected regionally, from Geraldton to Long Lac and Dryden. Day cares will stay open.
On Friday, the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation is having a day strike, but that will not affect the Catholic or Lakehead boards in Thunder Bay.
The strike action is to protest what the unions say are stalled contract discussions with the government.
