Thunder Bay is accepting applications for its 2025 housing grants.
The following grants are available:
- Additional Dwelling Units (ADUs) – Help for homeowners adding secondary units to existing properties.
- Multi-Unit Residential (MUR) Projects – Incentives for developers building multi-unit housing.
- Construction Assistance Grants (CAG) – Support for eligible building costs in core areas.
“The Housing Accelerator Fund is a game-changer for Thunder Bay,” said Mayor Ken Boshcoff. “These grants will directly support new housing options, making it easier for residents and developers to build. More homes mean a stronger, more vibrant community, and I encourage everyone to apply.”
There is limited funding available so the city is encouraging applicants to ensure their application is complete with all the required info prior to submission.

Applications will remain open until April 17.
