The India-Canada Cultural Association of Thunder Bay (ICCA Thunder Bay) is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a milestone event.
The organization’s goal is to foster cross-cultural understanding and to preserve Indian heritage.
They organize festivals, fundraisers, and host education initiatives celebrating Indian and South Asian culture.
“From the very beginning, ICCA Thunder Bay was founded with the goal of giving back to the community and creating a space where Indian culture could thrive while contributing to the city we now call home,” said Founding President, Pritam Lamba. “As we celebrate 50 years, we remain committed to strengthening cultural engagement, fostering inclusivity, and continuing our tradition of giving back to Thunder Bay. This city has embraced us, and it is our privilege to contribute in meaningful ways to its growth and diversity.”
To celebrate the anniversary they are hosting a Taste of India Extravaganza.
The event will feature dance performances, food, and a fundraiser.
As part of the celebration ICCA Thunder Bay is unveiling a new logo and website.
The event is also a fundraiser in collaboration with Children’s Centre Foundation Thunder Bay, Bikers Against Child Abuse, and Confederation College.
Proceeds from the event will directly support programs that promote child wellness, safety, and education.
Taste of India is taking place at the Italian Cultural Centre on Saturday from 5:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
