It took only minutes to make history.
When the polls closed, six minutes went by and it was clear Progressive Conservative Leader Doug Ford would win his third consecutive majority government.
It’s the first time in 65 years a party in Ontario accomplished such a feat.
Ford turned into “Mr. Canada” throughout the campaign, sporting a “Canada is not for sale” hat and often wearing a hockey jersey with the maple leaf.

It’s a shot back at Donald Trump for his tariff and annexation threats.
“I’m very grateful to the people of Ontario, and we’re going to make sure we protect the people of Ontario … and protect their families and their jobs and businesses,” Ford says. “I’ll fight tooth and nail against Donald Trump, I’ll promise you that.”
The NDP and Marit Stiles will form the official opposition, while the Liberals rebounded to regain official party status. However, Leader Bonnie Crombie lost her Mississauga-East Cooksville riding.
Crombie says she is determined to stay on as leader moving forward.

Ford, Stiles and Green Leader Mike Schreiner cruised to victories in their respective ridings.
The PCs won 80 seats, a gain of one from the number at the time the election was called.
The NDP won 27 seats, a loss of one, while the Liberals won 14, a gain of five.
The Greens won two seats.
