Thunder Bay-Superior North’s MP has decided who they are supporting in the federal liberal leadership race.
Patty Hadju is supporting former Bank of Canada and England governor Mark Carney.
“I was able to have a really good in depth conversation with Mr. Carney, not only about what his vision is as the leader of the Liberal Party, but what his vision is for Canada, what kinds of experiences he has in leading countries through difficult economic times,” explained Hadju. “After speaking with Mr. Carney, it became clear that his experience both here in Canada and as the Governor of the Bank of England, really topped the kinds of experience that really any of the other candidates have.”
“Even though other candidates do have a variety of different experience, he has led countries through extraordinarily challenging political and economic times, and I think that’s exactly the kind of strong hand that Canada needs right now.”
Liberal party members have until Monday to ensure their membership is up to date to be able to vote on the leadership race.
“This is a really important time of rejuvenation for the Liberal Party, and I hope that we see a high number of liberals participate,” added Hadju.
