A standoff in Terrace Bay has come to an end peacefully.
On Sunday morning, around 1:20 a.m., officers were alerted to a situation in Terrace Bay.
Police had received reports of an armed individual who had barricaded themselves in a home.
Officers blocked off the nearby area and worked to resolve the situation.
Crisis negotiators were on the scene assisting.
At roughly 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, an individual was taken into custody without incident.
“We can confirm that everyone is safe, and there is no ongoing threat to the public or the Terrace Bay community,” said the OPP in a release. “We extend our gratitude to the public for their cooperation and patience during this incident. Your support allowed us to focus on resolving the situation as safely and efficiently as possible.”
The OPP did not release any information on potential charges.
