One person was taken to hospital for evaluation following a house fire on McIntosh Street.
The blaze broke out around 11:30 Sunday night and fire fighters were met with heavy black smoke and flames coming from a number of areas of the house.
The windows were also blown out by the intensity of the fire.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue worked to keep the fire from extending beyand the single story home.
The first crews on the scene were able to bring the fire under control, but a total of six pumpers were dispatched along with an aerial ladder.
