Thunder Bay is getting a new music festival.
Bayfest was announced on Wednesday morning on 99.9 The Bay.
Organizers announced last month that Country on the Bay wouldn’t be returning.
The new festival features Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Lou Gramm, Loverboy, Kim Mitchell, Big Wreck, Trooper and more.
Although it is a new festival the host location remains at Fort William Historical Park.
The event is running from July 18-20.
Organizers say the new brand will build upon the festival’s successes in the future and ensure its long-term viability.
The new event is using the models of Bluesfest and Rock the Fort, and the organizers say that this will become a long-standing premiere event for the city.
