A teen is facing multiple charges after a joyride through the city on a motorized bike.
Officers were sent to George Burke Park just after midnight on Wednesday after receiving reports about the teen.
When officers arrived, the suspect fled and officers didn’t pursue them.
Later in the day, other officers saw the suspect by Arthur Street and Catherine Street.
The teen collided with a stopped police cruiser in the area before running.
A short time later officers located and arrested the suspect.
Arthur Street was closed as part of the investigation into the incident.
City police expect the roadway to re-open Wednesday afternoon.
The teen a 17-year-old from Thunder Bay has received a 90-day license suspension and is facing multiple charges including:
- Dangerous operation x3
- Flight from a peace officer
- Failure to remain
- Impaired operation of a vehicle
The accused remains in custody with a future court date.
