It’s about to get easier for you to visit Toronto.
Porter Airlines has announced a new route between Toronto Pearson International Airport and the Thunder Bay International Airport.
Flights will operate with three roundtrips per week starting on October 16.
“This new Toronto-Pearson service will increase our passenger capacity in Thunder Bay by more than 10 per cent,” said Kevin Jackson, president, of Porter Airlines. “We hope to increase flights on this route as we introduce more new E195-E2s into our fleet next year.”
From October 16 – October 26, flights will be on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays with departures from Thunder Bay at 9:55 a.m. and Toronto at 7:05 a.m.
Flights will be on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from October 27 through the 2024-2025 winter season. Departure times are shiting 15 minutes later for all flights once the second schedule is activated.
The plane servicing the route is Porter’s new 132-seat Embraer E195-E2.
“Since they arrived in 2009, Porter has significantly expanded their presence in Thunder Bay and has established itself as a key player in Canadian aviation,” said the President and CEO of the Thunder Bay Airport, Graham Ingham. “We are excited to continue our partnership with Porter and look forward to the new opportunities this expansion will create for our region.”
Before the expansion, Porter was providing up to five daily roundtrip flights between Thunder Bay and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.
