The Thunder Bay Police Service has laid charges relating to a fire on Bethune Street.
Officers were sent to a home around 8:20 a.m. on Tuesday, after receiving reports of a structural fire.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue crews were already on the scene working to put out the fire.
At that time firefighters alerted officers that arson was suspected, and a person was seen leaving the scene shortly after Fire Rescue discovered the fire.
Further investigation led to officers locating a suspect matching the description given to them.
The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
A 30-year-old Thunder Bay resident is facing the following charges:
- Arson
- Break and enter to commit an indictable offence
- Possession of break-in instruments
- Breach of recognizance
The accused appeared in court on Wednesday and remains in custody with a future court date.
