It’s been a pretty quiet week for Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry firefighters.
Only two wildfires this week, and both were reported on Thurday and both are faily small.
The only active one is Nipigon fire #3, which is located west of Highway 625 near Sandlink Lakes, about 13 kilometers east of Longlac.
The 0.3 hectare blaze is listed as under control.
The other fire is located near the Canada/US border just south of Thunder Bay.
The 0.1 hectare fire located on the south shore of West Wabindon Lake has been declared out.
Despite recent rain, much of the northwest region in the high hazard zone, with pockets of moderate.
