The Port of Thunder Bay is off to a strong start to its shipping season.
In April the port saw a 36 per cent increase in tonnage shipped compared to last year.
Grain shipments have continued to show recovery this year after down years in 2022, and 2023 with the port seeing an 11 per cent increase compared to the five-year average.
Year-to-date grain exports have also seen a substantial rise of 25 per cent compared to the same period last season.
A strong potash season continues from last season coming in 4.4 times higher this April compared to last.
The port also saw 14 more vessels last month than it did in April of the previous season.
