Weekend negotiations have paid off as workers with Unifor Local 103 will not be hitting the picket lines this week.
On Friday the union announced it would begin strike action Tuesday morning.
President Jeremy Rodgers is thankful for the support and solidarity from union members.
“Entering negotiations, we had one goal in mind: to negotiate an agreement that shows the true value of our members, and we believe this tentative agreement does exactly that.”
Unifor Local 103 represents over 350 clerical, on-board service, stores and shops at locations across Northern Ontario, including mechanics in Thunder Bay.
The bargaining committee is recommending acceptance of the agreement, its details however will not be released until the agreement is presented to members for ratification.
