An incident involving the Thunder Bay Police Service which resulted in a man being injured has brought in Ontario’s police watchdog.
According to the Special Investigations Unit the incident occurred on February 1st, officers were attending a building on May Street South just after noon when they encountered a person of interest.
When the 27-year-old man refused to identify himself, prompting the officer to take him into custody, however an interaction occurred which resulted in the man being taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The SIU has assigned two investigators to the case.
