Another food recall for Salmonella contamination, this time affecting Eagle brand frozen corn.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency issued the recall Monday for the product from Gentro Foods Inc.
Affected items come in 1.75 kg bags with a best before date of February 1st of 2025.
The CFIA says the affected products were distributed in Ontario however, the agency warns they could have also been sold in other provinces and territories.
The recall was triggered by test results conducted by the CFIA and so far there have been no reported illnesses from consumption of the affected products.
This recall marks the latest in a line of items to be recalled for salmonella contamination including dozens of Quaker products and cantaloupes, the latter of which has resulted in a number of deaths and prompted the launch of a class action lawsuit.
