A joint investigation by the OPP, RCMP, Thunder Bay Police Service nad the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service has resulted in the arrests of two people following the execution of a search warrant in Thunder Bay.
Officers with the Ontario Provincial Police Provincial Joint Forces Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team raided the Amelia Street West home and seized 42 grams of suspected fentanyl, 78 grams of cocaine, an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency and a number of items associated with the drug trade, including five cell phones.
A 26 year old Pointe-Claire Quebec man and a 59 year old city woman have both been charged with:
· Possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000.
· Possession of a Schedule 1 substance, cocaine, for the purpose of trafficking.
· Possession of a Schedule 1 substance, fentanyl, for the purpose of trafficking.
The man is being held in custody and will appear in court at a yet to be determined date, while the woman has been released and will be back in court next month.
