Thunder Bay Fire Rescue kicked off 2024 responding to a two alarm fire on the city’s south side yesterday morning.
It occurred just after 5:00 a.m. when a resident at the home was awakened by a smoke alarm.
First crews arriving on scene encountered light smoke on the main floor, before discovering and extinguishing a small fire which had broken out in the rear bedroom.
No injuries were reported.
This incident serves as a reminder that working smoke alarms save lives according to TBFR.
