Cantaloupes sold across the country under the brands Malichita and Rudy, between October 10th and November 24th, are being recalled for Salmonella.
So far 63 cases have been identified by the Public Health Agency of Canada, isolated to Ontario, Newfoundland and Labrador, Quebec and PEI, which has led to 17 hospitalizations and one death.
Additionally, the illness is linked to products made with cantaloupe, and other produce processed alongside the recalled cantaloupes.
Those items include, honeydew, pineapple, watermelon, and various fruit trays.
It is advised if you purchased a cantaloupe between the affected dates ad cannot verify the brand to just throw it out.
