A test of the National Alert Ready system is set to be conducted Wednesday across the country.
The system is designed to alert Canadians through radio and television broadcasts, as well as on our phones of local, regional and national emergencies.
They include fires, storms, floods, terrorist threats, civil emergencies, Amber alerts and other significant events where safety is priority.
Residents in New Brunswick will get the first test at 10:55 a.m. Atlantic.
Ontario will receive its alert test at 12:55 p.m. Eastern / 11:55 a.m. Central.
Meanwhile, at 1:55 p.m. Atlantic Nova Scotians will get their alert.
Hey Canada! Mark your calendars for Nov. 15 – we'll be conducting tests across most provinces & territories to ensure our system’s readiness in the case of an emergency.
