Last week Toby Keith was at the inaugural People’s Choice Country Awards where he was being honored with the first-ever Icon Award. Blake Shelton did the honor of presenting Toby with his award. Toby then performed an emotional tune and says he chose the song “Don’t Let the Old Man In” because he hopes it inspires anyone who’s watching his cancer fight. While Keith sounded strong, he and his wife Tricia’s tears told anyone watching that his battle is either much more difficult than fans know, far from over, or both.
