Thousands of Honda’s are being recalled across Canada and the U.S. over the possibility of faulty seatbelts.
From 2017 to 2020, at least four Honda models and the Acura RDX are part of the recall which notes that the buckles for the driver and front passenger seats could wear down over time. This means the seatbelts could unlatch unexpectedly which is an extreme safety risk.
Honda will be contacting owners by mail if their vehicle is affected. Owners will be instructed to take the car to a dealership to have the buckle assemblies inspected and likely to have the release buttons replaced.
