United Way is kicking off their Tampon Tuesdays again this year.
The goal is to raise awareness around feminine hygiene products and for people to donate those items to the United Way to help address period poverty in our communities.
One in seven people who use menstrual products, struggle to get the items they need during this time. They are the least donated, yet are the most requested item at Foodbanks.
Thunder Bay’s OPP detachment is collecting items across the region.
From March 4-12, officers will be collecting the items donated and delivering them to the United Way. Last year NWO OPP collected and donated almost 9,000 feminine products; which include tampons, pads, shampoo, soap, toothpaste and more.
