City police are investigating a stabbing which occurred early New Year’s morning sent two people to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers were dispatched to Cumberland Street South just before 12:35 a.m. January 1st, following reports of an assault with a weapon.
Through the investigation, police learned two males had gotten involved in an altercation outside of a bar, and when it got physical one of the males was stabbed.
A female, who was not involved in the incident, was injured after she left a nearby bar and unwittingly walked into the middle of the incident. Her injuries were also the result of a stabbing.
The Thunder Bay Police Service’s Major Crimes Unit are continuing their investigation to identify the suspect.
Both victims have been released from hospital.
