Officials with the Thunder Bay Minor Hockey Association are looking to address a serious concern, where an unofficial bounty system had been put in place.
Screenshots of a social media post sent to Acadia News outlines how a player could get paid by taking another player out of the game by causing them to make a scene or by injuring them.
The posts show this system dating back as far as October 21st of this season.
Coaches from 15A and 18A were called in for a meeting last night on the situation. President Wayne Fortes says none of the coaches in attendance had concrete evidence however the TBMHA is asking any parents with information or evidence of the bounty system to contact them.
Fortes notes that evidence would then be sent to the police as this behavior has no place in minor hockey.
