Education workers start the process of voting for the most recent deal that’s been offered by the province.
CUPE’s Ontario School Boards Council of Unions (OSBCU) central bargaining committee said in a statement that the presidents of the 67 CUPE locals were bringing the deal to their members.
55,000 education workers will have a chance to vote on the deal that secured them a $1/hour increase but no increase for more support in schools.
The walkout in early November resulted in two days of school closures across the province, and at schools that didn’t close were left without certain staff members like custodians, maintenance and cafeteria workers.
Members will vote on the deal from Nov. 24 to Dec. 5, with results released Dec. 6.
