Kids who don’t have access to private dental care in Canada can now get some work done.
The Canada Dental Benefit received royal assent and starting December 1st eligible parents and guardians could receive up to $650 a year, tax-free, for two years to help cover dental expenses for children under 12 years old.
500,000 kids who don’t have access to private insurance and have an adjusted family net income under $90,000 will be eligible;
- $650 will be provided for each eligible child if the family’s adjusted net income is under $70,000.
- $390 will be provided for each eligible child if the family’s adjusted net income is between $70,000 and $79,999.
- $260 will be provided for each eligible child if the family’s adjusted net income is between $80,000 and $89,999.
Applications and payments for the new benefit will start on December 1.
